We are a youth-led research initiative dedicated to exposing the structural inequities embedded in global lending systems. From predatory payday loans to sovereign debt traps, we document the true cost of borrowing for those least able to afford it.
OUR MISSION
Borrowing should never cost you your future.
Our work sits at the intersection of policy research, data journalism, and community advocacy — because understanding the problem is the first step toward fixing it.
Who we are.
We are a youth-led research initiative dedicated to exposing the structural inequities embedded in global lending systems. From debt-to-GDP ratios to predatory APR structures, our work maps where modern finance fails — and proposes what equity might look like.

Looking Ahead
The research has a destination.
Phase 01 Contract Analysis
Multilingual NLP scans loan agreements in 150+ languages, flagging predatory clauses wage assignments, confession of judgment, hidden balloon payments and explaining them in plain language with statute references.
Phase 02 Alternative Credit Scoring
Federated learning models use rent, utilities, and telco payment histories to build bias-aware scores without centralizing personal data. Built for the 1.4 billion unbanked who deserve credit access too.
Phase 03 Legal Aid Routing
When a contract trips a high-risk flag, EquiFinance connects users to vetted legal aid partners within 72 hours. No more drowning in the system. No more waiting two months for an appointment.
Phase 04 Financial Literacy Tools
Offline-first mobile app with SMS and IVR support for low-connectivity regions, designed for low-literacy users: so that understanding your money is never gated by income, geography, or education.
The articles you just read are the foundation. The long-term arc of EquiFinance is to translate that research into real infrastructure for borrowers: an AI Debt Advocate that scans contracts, scores credit without prejudice, and connects users to legal aid in their own language. This is the roadmap we're building toward.
